Desaware Corporate Background

The Past

Desaware was founded in 1991 by Dan Appleman to develop components for the Visual Basic market. Over the years Desaware has grown to be one of the leading vendors of advanced components. From the first VBX components written in C++, to COM/OCX components, to the latest .NET technologies. Desaware has always been on the leading edge of component development.

2000 - 2010

Desaware has always focused on the needs of developers. Over the past few years, we've increased our focus on software licensing and security based on increasing requirements for flexible licensing scenarios.

Desaware currently provides the .NET market with a variety of innovative components and software licensing products while continuing to support our legacy OCX products.

Desaware's publishing division was recently created to publish Dan Appleman's current books and those of other quality authors.

2010 - 2024

While continuing to support .NET technologies, the company pivoted more towards Salesforce technologies and publishing.

2025 and on

After decades of focusing on software development tools, the company has now pivoted to... well, to find out, keep an eye on the Active Projects section on our main site.
